Band Helper is a small private tool used by the band Fatal Distraction to find rehearsal days. Members record which days they are available. This page explains what the tool keeps about you, who can see it, and how to have it removed.
What we collect
When you sign in with Google, Google tells Band Helper:
- your name,
- your email address, and
- an identifier that is unique to your Google account.
That is all. Band Helper does not ask for access to your contacts, calendar, files or any other Google data.
Once you are approved, Band Helper also keeps:
- the display name you choose (it starts as your Google name),
- for each day you fill in, whether you are Available, Maybe or Unavailable, and when you last changed it.
Who can see it
- Other approved band members see your display name and your availability. They do not see your email address.
- The band admin also sees your email address, so they can tell people apart and approve or remove them.
- Nobody else can see it. Band Helper has no public pages that show member information.
How it is used
Your information is used to sign you in, to show the band who is free on which days, and for nothing else. It is not sold, not shared with advertisers, and not used for marketing, analytics or profiling.
Where it is kept, and who processes it
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosts Band Helper. The data is stored in AWS's Sydney region (Australia).
- Google handles your sign-in. Band Helper never sees your Google password.
- Your browser keeps a sign-in token in its local storage so you stay signed in. It is removed when you sign out. Band Helper does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Technical server logs record requests (which page, when, and the member's internal ID) but not names or email addresses. They are kept for 30 days.
How long it is kept
- Availability is deleted automatically about two weeks after the week it belongs to has ended.
- If the admin removes you, your member record, your linked sign-ins and all your availability are deleted straight away.
- A basic sign-in record (your name and email) may remain in AWS's sign-in service after you are removed. Ask the admin to have it deleted too.
Your choices
You can change your display name at any time in Band Helper, and you can ask to be removed. To ask, or to ask what is held about you, contact the band admin: the person who sent you the invite link.
Children
Band Helper is for band members and is not aimed at children.
